Sperm Leakage: 3 Causes and 5 possible solution

What I will be talking about today is very important, kindly take out time to read through.

Sperm leakage
A lot of women do complain to us about sperm leakages or sperm pouring out of their vagina after intercourse, and they often attribute this to the course of their infertility.
If you are undergoing such, you are not alone. It is quite common especially in West Africa, and the Yorubas do call it EDA, which literarily translates to pouring.
Let me be frank with you, sperm leakage or sperm pouring out from the vagina does not exactly cause infertility, although it can reduce the chances of conception. Like I always say to conceive a healthy baby, a woman will need a healthy sperm cell and also an optimal vaginal health condition for this purpose to be accomplished.
Sperm Structure
The ideal sperm has the following three structures:
1. The head (fusion with the ovum)
2. The body (provides energy)
3. The tail (for movement)
So, for pregnancy to happen, all the three structures of the sperm should function normally, else it becomes a case of male infertility.
However, a woman also has a similar role to play particularly when it concerns the leakage of sperm out of the vagina after sexual intercourse.
Research has shown that women with history of pelvic infection will induce the immune system to release anti-sperm antibodies within the Vaginal tract, so when the male partner ejaculates sperm into the vagina, these antibodies would inadvertently attack the “head” of the sperm which weakens its viability and capacity to impregnate the cervical mucus, lowering the chances of fertilization, and the rest of the ejaculate pours out of the vagina.
Causes of Sperm Leakages
Couples battling with primary or secondary infertility issues and also going through *Sperm leakage issues after sexual intercourse may also be having other factors limiting their chances of getting pregnant. So, it is paramount to know of the following limiting factors that can prevent you from conceiving on time, knowing them and what to do will maximise your effort:
1. Bacterial Infection:
A woman with a medical history of genital disease like I mentioned in my previous post could have some antibodies that mistakenly attack the male’s sperm cells, and invariably harming the sperm thus reducing chances of getting pregnant.
2. Dietary Choice:
A woman with thick cervical mucus can also suffer from the leakage of sperm from the vagina due to excess intake of food with high glucose-content.
One reason for this is that foods with high glycemic index increase the acidic pH level of the vagina and thickens the cervical (vaginal) fluid, whereas sperm will require an optimal alkaline environment to thrive and as a result. As a result, this repeals the male sperm leading to sperm leakage. More on Cervical Mucus later.
3. Retroverted Womb:
Studies have shown that Women with tilted(malpositioned) uterus have been found to suffer from sperm leakages from the vagina.
The reason for this is that the normal uterus is in an anteverted anatomical position and more favourable for normal sperm movement into the womb, as against a retroverted womb that impedes the male sperm from moving into the womb.
5 Ways to Naturally Prevent Sperm Leakage
1. Stay-After Exercise: To make sure sperm entering into the uterus do not gush out as a result of sperm leakage during and after sexual intercourse, the woman should place a pillow behind her waist and then remain on her back for at least 20 – 30 minutes, rushing out of bed immediately won’t help you.
2. Ideal Sex Position: For a woman with a retroverted uterus, the best sex position for her to adopt is the rear position or the doggy style, this helps to increase her chances of conception.
3. Having Orgasm:  Orgasm is a period of intense sexual climax in a woman, which is accompanied by a spasm of the pelvic muscles which helps to pull sperm into the womb. Reaching orgasm and ejaculating concurrently with the man increases the couple’s chances of conception, even if sperm leakages still do occur.
4. Male factor: to reduce sperm leakages and maximises the amount of sperm deposit, the male partner should ensure he deepens his penetration most especially at the peak of sexual climax, This will ensure that sperm is ejaculated strategically around the opening of the womb, thereby increasing the chances of fertilisation.
5. Supplementation: making use of organic and natural supplements such as ours can help to stabilise the pH of your vagina, get rid of anti-sperm antibodies and improve cervical mucus which will help supports the sperm’s movement whenever they are deposited in you. This, in turn, increases your chance of getting pregnant and carrying your pregnancy to full term.
